A content manager can only modify parts specifically assigned by the administrator. This is great when you have multiple people responsible for different content on your site. |

Changes made to the underlying template are automatically applied to the pages. |
Internet Explorer | Microsoft's web browser. If you have Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher, you can use our WYSIWYG editor (similar to a word processor) to edit text on your page. |

Many sites have links to PDF files to display multi-page manuals, instructions, product fact sheets, etc. You can upload PDF files to your web site using our built-in file manager. It is then easy to add a link to the PDF file so visitors can view it. |
Preview | View a page, template or componet actually as it will look to the visitor. |
Preview Mode | The edit mode that displays a WYSIWYG view of the page, template or component with edit buttons above each item to make it easy to make your changes. In preview mode you can edit items on the page but you cannot add new items, move items or delete items. You must use Layout Mode to modify the structure of the page. |
Private Page | A page with the private flag set to true. Visitors cannot view a private page unless they first logon to the private site. |
Private Site | A site-within-a-site. Only authorized visitors can view these private pages. In order to make them available to your visitor, you simply add a Private Site Logon item anywhere on a page. When a visitor enters their credentials (user name and password), DbSmartSite validates it against the list of authorized users you have created. There is no coding on your part to make this happen! |
Private User | A username/password allowed to visit your private site. Administrators maintain the list of valid usernames within DbSmartConfig. |

Simply by changing a template, you can change the look and feel of your entire site without making a single change to your pages! |
Upload Files | You upload files from your computer to the web site using the DbSmartConfig File Manager. You do not need a separate FTP client tool. |
Publish Page | Changes you make to a page are not immediately visible to visitors to your site. Otherwise, visitors would see unfinished pages. When finished making changes to a page, you publish the page which simply moves your changes to the site. You can publish a single page or multiple pages at the same time. |
Publish Styles | You must also publish styles for visitors to see them. This enables you to load a new style sheet, make changes and preview the resulting page with the new styles without visitors seeing the results. When you are happy with your new style sheet, you then publish them. |
WYSIWYG | What You See Is What You Get. |
