The structure of a page, a template, and a component is the same: sections contain columns that contain items.

All pages, templates, and components are made up of one or more sections.
Sections are made up of columns.
Columns are made up of items. Items are the actual "things" the visitor sees on the page. An item can be an image, some text, a form, a calendar, a heading, a button, etc.
