When you choose to have DbSmartSite host your web site, you get a lot for very little cost. You get free use of our DbSmartConfig Site Builder. You also get to use our DbSmartSite New Site Wizard. You can build and maintain your site with no prior experience.

If you choose to build your site from scratch, here are the basic steps you will take:

• Build reusable components (page parts) you can use on all your pages. At a minimum you will build a header and a footer.
• Build a template (page framework) you can use to give all pages on your site a consistent look and feel.
• Build pages inherited from your template and add content to each page.
• Designate one of your pages as your home page (the first page a visitor sees).
• Select a style sheet (and modify if you want) that sets the colors and fonts for your site.
• Publish your style sheet when finished.
• Publish your pages when finished.

Note: You do not have to use components or templates. You can build each page from scratch. However, we strongly encourage you to make use of these powerful features. It may be a little work up front but will save a lot of time later.

We strongly suggest you start by using the New Site Wizard. There is a link to the New Site Wizard on the Home page of DbSmartConfig. Simply follow the steps.

When you are finished, you will have a site complete with:

• Header and footer component
• Template
• Home, privacy, legal, contact us, about us pages (and more depending on your selections)
• Style sheet

All you need to do is customize the content to make the site your own.
